UA4FOOD

Each year as part as UA4FOOD, University students and community groups compete against money in an attempt to raise the most food and money to be donated during the holiday season.

Student and community groups will compete to raise food and cash for the holiday season.

Rivalry Week on The University of Arizona campus, the run-up to the annual Territorial Cup football game between the UA and Arizona State University, is also now a chance for Tucsonans to benefit the Community Food Bank this holiday season.

UA student groups and local charitable organizations will be rivals for a $500 cash prize by donating the most food and dollars for "Fight Hunger, Fight." UA4 Food is sponsoring the event to benefit the Food Bank.

At the Dec. 5 Bear Down Friday in Main Gate Square, UA student groups and local charitable organizations will have receptacles on the sidewalks along University Boulevard and Park Avenue to accept food and cash donations on behalf of the Food Bank. The event is from 4 to 7 p.m.

Anyone who donates to the food drive also will be eligible for a raffle featuring more than fifty prizes. Those include a Diana Maderas commemorative tile, a $50 Main Gate Square gift certificate, UA merchandise and more. For every $2 donation or for two items of food, donors will receive one raffle ticket.

All proceeds from "Fight Hunger, Fight" will go to support the Community Food Bank.

Organization who wish to compete in "Fight, Hunger, Fight" can call the Marshall Foundation by Dec. 3. Space is limited to 50 organizations.
